Major Medical Concerns
The two most important medical concerns to plan for in a survival situation are dehydration and hypothermia if these two are not in check and taken care of immediately it will be a rough time trying to survive
Dehydration - Dehydration is a very deadly thing and can easily kill a person, your body can survive maybe 3 days with out water so it is imperative that you find as much clean water as possible. Ideally a person should consume 3 to 4 quarts of water per day to replenish all the water lost while surviving, weather this be from a little stream or water pool on the island or from a filtration system from your survival gear getting enough water to survive at least one more day will at least give you a chance to survive.
Hypothermia - Hypothermia can occur in a cold environment where the human body is warmer than its surroundings and will lose heat, it can also occur in a warm environment where the human body is cooler than its surroundings and it will heat up either situation can become very deadly. In order to prevent hypothermia it is important to stay warm by either wearing extra layers of clothing or make a fire that can provide heat. If in a warm environment you should find shade and avoid contact with objects warmer than your body temperature.
Cuts - Getting cut on a island can be a easy problem to solve depending on its size, the first thing you would want to do it put pressure on the wound to stop it from bleeding. When the bleeding stops you will want to go into the ocean and wash the wound out with salt water, the salt water will also help heal the wound by drying it out and removing any fluid from the injury. You should clean out the wound at least twice a day with salt water to avoid injection. Next take some sort of gauze or fabric and wrap it around the wound to keep pressure on it at all times and heal the cut.
Bug Bites - On a island there will be plenty of things that are going to bite you like, mosquitoes, ants, flies, and ticks. Most of these bugs are going to leave a area on your skins that will get red, have some swelling and mild burning or itching. There isn't a lot that can be done to magically remove a bug bite on a island but the best treatment is to wrap the area in a cool cloth and is possible take some kind of pain relive like ibuprofen to reduce redness and swelling.
